Anyone interested in joining the Catholic Church or learning more about their Faith is invited to attend RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). This is a process whereby the candidates participate in a year long program culminating in their acceptance in the Church during the Easter Vigil service. They enter the Catholic Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

Early formation in the faith is vital in the spiritual formation of a child. Parish Religious Education classes for Grades 1-6 are held weekly on Wednesday nights, 6:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., September through May. The goal of this ministry is to develop in our young people the desire for prayer, understanding of the sacraments, scripture and teaching of church doctrine on the level of each child's ability to understand. The parish is blessed with a very fine staff of teachers who are dedicated to teaching.

The Salina CYO meets every Sunday during the school year, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, downstairs at St. Mary's Parish Hall. There are nights where speakers come and share their faith story, or life experience. Some meetings we have discussions to deepen our faith experience. We have several fun nights including: Halloween and Christmas parties, as well as theme-based parties. Every night we share stories about when/where God has touched our lives. We have our own youth Praise and Worship band. We end each meeting with night prayer from the liturgy of hours.
Every year Salina CYO participates in a service project. Last year, we went caroling for canned food to donate to the Food Bank.
The BIG Events for Salina CYO include: Diocesan CYO Convention, Prayer & Action, National Catholic Youth Conference, Ski Retreats! We have several fundraisers throughout the year to help pay for some of the big trips. Some fund-raisers we do: Dillons Cards, Games at the River Festival, Bake Sales.

Each Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. Mass from September through May, St. Elizabeth's has a special liturgical session for children in Pre-K through 2nd grade. Children's Liturgy of the Word offers an opportunity for the children to hear age-appropriate reflections on the Scripture readings. The session is led by adult volunteers who have a desire to help children be formed in the Catholic Faith.
