Religious Education
Grades 1-6

Early formation in the faith is vital in the spiritual formation of a child. Parish Religious Education classes for Grades 1-6 are held weekly on Wednesday nights, 6:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., September through May. The goal of this ministry is to develop in our young people the desire for prayer, understanding of the sacraments, scripture and teaching of church doctrine on the level of each child's ability to understand. The parish is blessed with a very fine staff of teachers who are dedicated to teaching.

CYO

The Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) is open to high school age students who are interested in growing and sharing their faith with their peers. The CYO meets during the school year. For dates please see the parish calendar. The CYO tries to provide 3 types of activities for everyone to enjoy: faith, fun, and community. Each of these areas have been identified by the CYO as areas that we want to spend time doing.

Faith, we look at the Catholic faith and how it applies to the live of those in the CYO. These are interactive activities that help deepen the faith of those who participate.

Fun, we try to build a sense of community amongst all those who partake. We try to link it into each of the activities we do and also provide separate events just for fun. These include playing video games, table tennis, and much more. We also have fun at events like the St. Elizabeth Fall Festival.

Community, to balance out our activities and not just grow to our selves, we reach out to the community by engaging in projects for the community. Sometimes these projects serve the faith community of St. Elizabeth's, sometimes they reach out to a larger range of people. In the past, we have helped Birthright and Project Angel Tree. This year we are hoping to become involved with the local Habitat for Humanity.

In addition to these activities we also have a great group going to the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) in Indianapolis. This group has done fundraising and planning for the trip and is really looking forward to it. This year the CYO is planning on exploring the Rosary, having fun, and growing in faith through community service projects.
