Pastoral Council

St. Elizabeth's Pastoral Council exists to promote spiritual growth inside the parish community; support and assist the Pastor in parish decision-making in spiritual and material matters; coordinate parish activities; encourage active involvement of parishioners in the various parish organizations, programs and activities; make the parish a vital part of the local community; and set a Christian example by our works and deeds within the parish. Each member is either an officer or a liaison to one of the commissions or councils.
Pastoral Council meetings are held on the third Sunday of each month at 11:45 a.m. in the parish hall. The meetings are open to all members of the parish. Parishioners may address the Council on matters of concern or interest, and they may have an item placed on the Council agenda by contacting the parish office 10 days prior to a meeting. Pastoral Council elections are held annually in June. One term of office consists of three years, with the possibility of reappointment to another three year term.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council #10778 of the Knights of Columbus: We bring hope to the world when we live out our principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism in ways that change lives for the better. Through our principles, we encourage every man to live a spiritual life every day. We are men joining together with our brothers to do what they couldn't do by themselves. Founded by a Catholic Priest, Venerable Michael J. McGivney in 1882, we help our members provide financial protection for their families. There is no higher rated insurer in America. The Knights of Columbus needs good Catholic men, perhaps you need the Knights of Columbus. For questions and information, about becoming a brother Knight, please contact those listed here.

St. Elizabeth's Women's Group
The St. Elizabeth's Women's Group organized in January 2010. We gather to share and care for our parish, as well as, give it more of a family feel. Fundraising helps us provide social time together and insure that we will be able to help others. Meetings are usually the second Thursday of each month. Each year the day/date of our meetings will be discussed to see what best serves the majority of the ladies of St. Elizabeth's. We have several committees, including but not limited to: Social, Communication, Charity, Sharing & Caring, Spirituality, and Fundraising. In the past we have had sign-up sheets for helping on these committees. Our group is also committed to helping with the annual parish Fall Festival. Officers are elected each year.

The Mission Statement of the organization: Catholic Daughters of the Americas strives to embrace the principle of faith working through love in the promotion of justice, equality, and the advancement of human rights and human dignity for all.
CDA meets once a month from September thru May on the First Saturday of the Month with a 7:30 a.m. Marian Devotion, 8:00 a.m. First Saturday Mass, 8:30 a.m. Rosary, and 9:00 a.m. Guest Speaker presentation and CDA meeting at Sacred Heart Hall of Bishops, with the exception of the March meeting when CDA of Salina sponsors a CDA Lenten Retreat on odd years, and a day pilgrimage on even years. The CDA Lenten Retreat is open to everyone. They honor priests, religious, seminarians and our Bishop with a gift card for birthdays and Christmas. Fleece prayer blankets are made and distributed to those members or family members who are suffering in some way. We put together care bags for the home bound during the Christmas season. Scheduling is put together with help from all members. Guest Speakers are usually selected from within our Diocese…those that serve our community and help our diocese grow in faith.
Catholic Daughters sponsors three fundraiser breakfasts at the three parishes. Funds received are used for charitable causes and scholarship(s) for Catholic graduating senior girls from the three parishes. The number of scholarships varies on the fundraising success. Each year the local court adopts a national charity and three local charities in Salina to volunteer time or provide funds. Examples are: preparing a meal for the Salina Rescue Mission in even months; providing a meal for Ashby House in odd months; Birthright; Catholic Charities; Domestic Violence (DVACK); Pregnancy Service Center; Salina Shares; Salina Food Bank; Greater Salina Foundation/ Women to Women…
Catholic Daughters is a great way for women of all ages – 18 – 100 to connect with other Catholic Women in our Salina community and throughout the Americas. We welcome you to come visit to see for yourself the tremendous faith that is in action in and around our community. Blessings to you all.

Bloodmobile
>St. Elizabeth's Blood Drive is a ministry of giving. Every year in the U.S., 5 million patients will need blood. Over 38% of the U.S. is eligible to give blood. The actual donation of a unit of blood only takes 10 to 12 minutes. The entire process from arriving to leaving takes only about 1 hour and 15 minutes. One donation can save up to 3 lives. You can donate every 56 days until you reach age 76. If you started at age 17, you would have donated 48 gallons of blood and saved more than 1,000 lives. At St. Elizabeth's, we have a drive approximately every 60 days. Dates are announced through the bulletin and the parish calendar on the website. You must have an appointment, as this is an express drive. You may schedule an appointment through the contact(s) listed on this page. Please consider saving a life.
